Group Logic: Look inside!

Everybody who is trying to understand current events in politics should try to look at the big picture. It isn’t Trump, Erdogan, Wilders, Brexit or any other kind of narrow minded politician who is making all this closing ranks on ‘the other ones’ possible. Any… if not all conflicts like this are about trust. Who do you trust?

Actually… in nature… If you want to trust someone, an animal or something happening, you shouldn’t really. If you really do, you are not likely to survive… as an individual. But there is safety in numbers. That’s an instinct. In human social communities there are three main actors making them belong. A leader, leader supporters and followers. This can vary with function. But in general a threat would strenghten coherence within this group.

If this group contains every aspects of life and accepts deviations as normal, generally there is relative trust. Of course there are conflicts within the group, but solutions will be found in rulings everybody agrees with. During a outside threat however deviations and conflicts within the group will only be accepted if it doesn’t make the group vulnerable. Where trust was given, it’s asked for or demanded.

The only problem is how to recognise the real threat. Biologically spoken it would be an enemy. Even when the enemy is a structural problem within group behaviour. In current world relations between communities, they all face the same problem. We call it economy, but it’s nothing more than the potential to keep up structures within the community. So the community is looking at the outside to analyse what’s wrong. There’s always something wrong. Vulnerabilities will be dealt with.

Dear communities… dear groups… dear politicians… dear people. Look for problems within… it’s not ‘working harder’, less fraud or corruption or every action should be to support society, it’s not ‘everybody should comply’… it’s factors like the spiral of always bettering ourselves, having symbolic property and producing products for the sake of it. Derivatives of symbolic properties telling us if those factors gain or fall. A sound biological structure that’s variable, but stable should be a recycling system with a buffering element.

Although we do not see it as such, deviations within group behaviour and even conflicts are  buffering elements. Within behaviour, but within economy as well. A society that is not able to withstand differences of opinion, differences in abilities or doesn’t support trust between members is unstable from within. Putting the problem outside the community is making things worse.

I am suggesting a recyclable economy, where symbolic property is reduced to coinage or its current representation, production is reduced to the level of use and recycling is rule. Do not accept derivative property as a goal to work for and relate work as need to live, not life as reason to work. There is no need for communism or any other -ism… there is no need for any fixated belief system… there is need for sustainability. Sustainability is reached when trust is something to be given and not asked for.
