This message was referenced via BBC News as ‘the possible risk of human extinction.’ AI being a danger. However, that would pose an inevitability, if it were a causal relation. It’s not. The way we use what we call AI is, though… The owners of these relational databases adapting for human behaviour, are used for economic purposes. In a way presenting customers with what they believe is necessary in their life.
The biggest problem with our current way of life is that everything deemed possible and ‘worthy’ is measured by economic relevance. AI is considered a top contender for all human activities to emphasise economic relevance, because it can serve as a supportive tool and generally we think production is the way forward.
Well… It’s not. Quality of life would be… and extrapolating our increasing activity combined with our use of resources shows us exactly the actual risk of extinction, which would not be restricted to humans. Quantity of life is the actual danger to existence.
